Burqa Ban


 How it all started


For the sake of clarity, when they say "burqa" or "niqab", the French are talking about the garment that covers the face completely and leaves only a grill or a space for the eyes. The veil that covers only the head and the neck and leaves the face open, is the "hijab". They are treated as two different things with a different set of sentiments and politics reserved for both. So the" burqa" is different from the "Islamic headscarf."

French Leader's speak

“The burqa is not a religious sign, it is a sign of the subjugation, of the submission of women. I want to say solemnly that it will not be welcome on our territory.” Said the French Leader. Last summer in June, Nicolas Sarkozy started the polemic in his speech saying "The burqa is not welcome on the territory or our republic. The problem is of the liberty and the dignity of women. It's not a religious sign. It's a sign of servitude and degradation."  But here was a President making a strong statement about a dress worn by a certain members of a community, the Muslims. What's worse, his party launched the debate on national identity soon after. The suspicion became stronger, that his party (the UMP) was going to instrumentalise the burqa debate for the sake of the upcoming regional elections (March 2010) and that muslim immigrants and french born muslims were being targeted.

French stand

People have very strongly criticised the debate on national identity. But the debate on the burqa seems to go down more easily with the general public. The socialist opposition (the PS) says they are against the burqa but also against the ban. What worries them is that if a ban on the burqa does come about it'll give islamophobes and xenophobes more courage to bully their way around. What worries them about those opposing the ban is that they may actually end up defending the burqa. Muslim women organisations have welcomed the idea of a ban.

French Muslims and their stand

Most established Muslim organisations in France are moderate. Some say "these moderates" tow the french line seems to suggest that all the muslims living here are either not French or not good muslims just because they want to go along with the French. If a majority of Muslims in France are saying that the burqa is not Islamic, what would be the sense in anyone rushing to the burqa's rescue? Muslims in France slam the burqa but do want to keep the "hijab" (the veil that leaves face uncovered) that they consider religious, out of this debate. They do feel, naturally, that such debates tarnishe the image of Muslims and a ban would be harsh.

Burqa Ban

controversy erupted when a university dean in Egypt warned students they would not be able to stay at college dorms unless they removed their burqa. The dean cited security grounds, saying that men disguised as women in burqa could slip into the female dorms. Soad Saleh, a professor of Islamic law and former dean of the women’s faculty of Islamic studies at Al-Azhar University — hardly a liberal, said the burqa had nothing to do with Islam. It was but an old Bedouin tradition. The racism and discrimination that Muslim minorities face in many countries — such as France, which has the largest Muslim community in Europe, and Britain, where two members of the xenophobic British National Party were shamefully elected to the European Parliament — are very real.

Personal choice?

A story of two Muslim women in Cairo subway. Dressed in black from head to toe, the woman asked me why I did not wear the burqa. I pointed to my headscarf and asked her “Is this not enough?”
“If you wanted a piece of candy, would you choose an unwrapped piece or one that came in a wrapper?” she asked. “I am not candy,” I answered. “Women are not candy.”
I have since heard arguments made for the burqa in which the woman is portrayed as a diamond ring or a precious stone that needs to be hidden to prove her “worth.” Unless we challenge it, the burqa — and by extension the erasure of women — becomes the pinnacle of piety. If a Jewish can wear a small hat on their head, why can't the Muslims wear burqa? If an Indian got a pierce on the nose, why can't Muslim do the same? If a Caucasian women can naked by the beach, why can't the Muslim's women wear burqa?

I'm having another bad day in my life. I am so sad right now. When i was taking shower, i look at myself through the mirror, naked from up to bottom. And then i realize how ugly i am. At that time, i almost cry. I hate myself. I hate everything that i have. I hate the feeling to be rejected by the people, that can't except what i am. I know that i am ugly, i am fully aware that i'm not as good looking as you. I know all that. But please, don't do anything that can hurt my feeling. You 'turn' away when i 'come' to you. I know, that i laugh a lot, and many people said that i'm a very sporting person. But most people don't know. That sometimes i also have my own bumpy day. I know that i'm different, i'm wierd. I'm not as hot as you, i'm not as popular as you. I'm not as perfect as you, i ugly, i'm boring and i'm ugly. All of you can show off what you got to the whole world. I don't care. I hate it, i hate everything. And i am not happy.

Haih, puki mak la siyal. Kenapa internet lembab macam siput babi yang nazak ni. Aku tention tau tak! Memang fuck up nak tunggu page loading! Ape masalah kau sepenarnya? Ape lagi yang kau nak dari aku? Tak cukup ke kasih sayang yang aku dah bagi selama ni? Kau ni memang babi tulen yang paling tak berhati perot. Internet memang slow tahap dewa, kekadang okey tapi kekadang kalau dah slow tu memang mcm nak mintak penerajang, aku benci a camni! Streamyx pun same, maxis broadband lagi lah! Kat malaysia ni speed internet memang macam taik hanjing! Bile la nak rase speed laju gile gaban macam kat korea atau jepun tu. Benci la duduk malaysia!

Lebai Malang

Ok, hari ni saya nak cerita pasal member saya sorang ni. Nama dia Aril (memang nama sebenar) hari ni dia memang bongok sangat dan merupakan hari malang dia. Pagi tadi masa dalam kelas wallet dia terjatuh atas lantai lepas tu saya sorokkan, dia pun mencari wallet sampai separuh gila lepas tu merayu rayu kat saya supaya pulangkan balik, dia ni tau aje kalau aku mendajal die. Lepas kelas dah habis kami ke food court nak pergi lunch, lepas tu kunci motor dia pulak hilang! Member member aku semua tuduh aku yang ambil, siyot padahal memang saya tak ambil. Diorang cakap saya muka tak boleh percaya, penuh tipu muslihat dan senyuman yang sinis, HAHAHA power kan ayat diorang? sampai hati betul. Aku tak la sejahat itu, haha

Lepas tu dia berusaha menjejaki kunci tersebut. Rupanya kunci tersebut tertinggal kat motor, namun kunci tersebut sudah tiada, tapi surat merah yang melekat kat motor dia. Surat merah tu adalah surat saman haih kami memang strict, salah sikit kena saman. Bayangkan sebab tertinggal kunci, nak tuntut balik kunci tu kena bayar saman RM100 . Haha malang betul. Lepas tu kitorang balik apartment. Masa nak solat jumaat si mamat ni lupa yang dia dah kunci motor. Dia start motor terus jalan, then kunci mangga tu boleh patah kat tayar motor dia sebab dia lupa nak buka kunci mangga tu. Haha, pekebenda la budak ni.

Second Semester start's now!


Assalamualaikum, suda lme aku tak update en. Mesti korang rindu kat aku haha, perasan. Ok artikel kali ni special edition punya sempena bermulanya semester kedua aku. Kelas start hari isnin 18/1/2010 disebabkan jadual belum dapat kami datang seawal 8 pagi . Lepas tu aku naik ke office nak mintak jadual kat PA. Tapi nasib agak malang kot, PA kitorang belum dapat jadual dan katanya dalam proses nak dapatkan jadual. Setelah lame menunggu PA aku yang kate nak call tapi tak call call, so aku la yang call. Tengok tengok dia suruh aku mintak sendiri kat office, pulak aku tak tau sape aku nak carik dan nak mintak kat mane. So aku terkinja-kinja sorang sorang kat situ, haih =.=

Akhirnya ade sorang lecturer ni bagi slip jadual untuk kelas kitorang, syukur. Lepas tu aku turun kat lobi, kasihan budak kelas aku je yang bergelimpangan kat situ, budak budak kelas lain semua dah masuk kelas, haha kami terasa seperti diabaikan dan dianaktirikan seketika. Bila tengok jadual, kelas start pukul 2.00! sekarang baru pukul 9 kot. So student bertempiaran balik ke rumah masing-masing. Aku plak keluar makan dengan member aku ni, canggih kot nak carik kedai makan sampai nak guna gps =D lepas tu aku menyemak kat apartment member member aku ni. Lepaking disana sampai sempat tido lagi.
Kat sane diorang tak habis habis nak rekrut aku join rumah diorang, kasi lebih ramai so sewa pun lagi murah. haha, aku ta sure la na duduk rumah sewa sebab rumah aku bukan jauh sangat dengan kampus. Lepas solat kitorang gerak pegi kelas. Kelas pertama untuk semester dua ni adalah Structural Mechanics, berkaitan dengan struktur binaan dalam civil la. Sumpah kelaka bile lecturer cina tu translate english ke bahasa seperti unknown ke anu, bunyik bertambah lucah bila dia cakap ' kita nak ape kelas? kita nak anu! ' dan ' kita mesti kira berapa anu kita ' hahaha, dia sebenarnya merujuk kepada topik support and reaction on structure tapi kitorang tersalah translate dan asyik gelak sepanjang kelas.

Hari ni pulak kelas start pukul 8 dan pagi hujan lebat gila daripada tengah malam tadi. Sebab dah lambat dan takot jem aku naik motor gak dan mak aku paksa aku pakai rain coat yang kuning menyerlah dan sangat tebal, haih sungguh memalukan apabila turut dipakai dengan seluar dia sekali. Tengah hari tu aku ke apartment member aku lagi, tak malu merempat rumah orang. Pastu diorang mandi swimming pool tapi aku tak join, bace paper kat tepi je. Tu pun berapa kali percubaan nak tarik aku ke dalam kolam berjaya digagalkan, haha kejam betul korang ni. Ok sekian saja laporan untuk kali ini, sekian terima kasih.

Kot Kot

Sekarang ini ramai orang suka cakap banyak. Cakap cakap lepas tu diakhir ayat tu mesti letak kot. Dia keluarkan satu statement tapi di ayat last tu mesti letak kot.Cakap sikit kot, cakap sikit kot. Fenomena ni dah lame dah even aku dan member member aku pun dah lame gunakan ayatkot kot nii, sangat teruja ouh. Namun baru baru ini fenomena ini telah diperakui di AJL yang sedang berlangsung sekarang ini. Benda ini sangat menarik, haha cakap cakap lepas tu letak kot. Contohnya cantik, kot. Mahal, kot. Dah siap, kot. Aku dah lama beli dah, kot . haha! Ia adalah trend bercakap budak remaja zaman sekarang dan ia sudah lama menular dalam jiwa remaja ini. Best gila kot cakap camni. Korang patut cuba,kot. Style baru, kot. Dah lama ade, kot. Ahahaha.
Insomnia


Omg! it's back. My cancer's back. Petikan dari drama Desperate Housewives. Tapi aku tak menghidap kanser, tapi penyakit lama aku telah kembali. It's insomnia, tahun lepas aku struggle melawan penyakit ini, but now it's back, the insomnia is back! Setiap malam aku susah hendak tidur, tiap-tiap malam aku tidur pukul 4 pagi, wtf man! I am so lack of sleep, i didn't get enough rest. I'm lack of hygiene and it's really disturbing! Dan yang merisaukan aku, semester dua bakal bermula tidak lama lagi. Kalau aku masih tidur pukul 4 pagi, kosentrasi aku dalam kelas pasti tergangu. what am i supposed to do? God help me.

Burj Khalifa

On Monday, January 4th, 2010 the tallest man made structure was open to public! The Burj Khalifa formerly known as Burj Dubai was renamed after the financial crisis last year at which this super-structure cost US$ 1.5 billion has a high bill out and the sistering Abu Dhabi injected fund to this tower. Standing at 828 metre and has 160 habitable floors, almost twice of PetronasTower's 88 floors! The construction begun on 2004 and located at Downdown Dubai, this tower is a mixed-use tower which also consist a luxurious Armani Hotel designed by Giorgio Armani.
Final Exam

Assalamualaikum, akhirnya setelah berhempas pulas sehingga terkeluar hempedu aku akhirnya result final exam aku telah terbongkar. Sebelum result aku berjaya dibongkar aku terpaksa melalui beberapa saat getir bermula 31 Disember 2009 dan hari ini, 5 Januari 2010 barulah aku berjaya mendapatkan keputusan rasmi final exam aku. Seperti yang telah aku janjikan kepada diri aku sendiri, walau apa pun result yang aku dapat, aku akan tetap siarkan di blog ini. Jadi terimalah!


Musim Sekolah

haha, tahun baru 2010 telah menjelma, begitu juga musim persekolahan sesi 2010
yang bakal bermula esok. Kepada kanak-kanak yang masih bersekolah
selamat kembali ke sekolah dan belajarlah betul-betul, jangan tau makan lolipop
dan menonton televisyen sahaja. Ok bye!

Few day's ago i've a fight with my mom. Her mood since early in the morning was already bad, she keep mumbling back and forth and i just can't handle it, it's too noisy! But that's not the worst until we're all dressed-up to go to our granny's house. She was like a total mad when she saw my sister's new dress- that is black in colour. She is so mad that we bought another black clothes. So about one hour drive she nag and nag with a hard tone throughout the journey. She hated black clothes, she said it looks like penyagak, melampau, orang jahat, and she said only bad guys love to wear black clothes. I don't understand what is really the problem with black colour clothes, it's just a colour. But she insist that black in only for bad, stupid and low standard people. Total opposite for me, i think black is a great colour and i love clothes in black colour. So during at the granny's house we didn't spoken to each other as i keep avoiding when i bumped into her.

Berdikarilah!

Tadi family aku pergi rumah orang kahwin, seperti biasa aku kalau orang orang kawen ni malas nak ikot. So aku tinggal seorang dirumah. Tetiba timbul persoalan dalam kepale hotak aku, "alamak lunch nak makan ape, oh takpe roti canai ada" Tetibe abah aku hulur duit. Ok ini ceritanya, sekarang ini aku macam malas nak mintak duit dari parents aku. Perasaan ini timbul sejak aku form 5 lagi. Bukan nak kata berlagak tapi serius aku malas nak mintak-mintak duit kat parents aku. Kalau setakat lunch, bukannya aku takde duit sendiri langsung kan.

Aku sekarang malas nak menyusahkan parents aku. Kecuali kalau shopping, wajib mintak duit ok. Ahaha tapi aku kalau belanja sure beratus-ratus punya so kena top-up duit sendiri. Even kalau keluar dengan member pun aku dah lame tak mintak duit dari parents aku. Aku sekarang dah sembilan belas tahun, keadaan sekarang sungguh berbeza dengan ketika aku kecik kecik dulu. Kalau dulu, parents aku tinggalkan aku sorang-sorang kat rumah sure aku mintak duit awal-awal lagi. Lepas tu kalau aku nak beli ape-ape walau benda kecik pun aku akan mintak duit dari parents aku.

Tapi sekrang tak lagi. Kalau bende kecik kecik tu aku boleh guna duit sendiri. Dan sekarang aku jarang mintak duit dari parents aku kecuali elaun mingguan untuk kolej dan perbelanjaan yang perlu sahaja. Aku taknak terlalu bergantung pada duit parents aku. Aku dah besar, aku boleh jaga diri aku sendiri tanpa bantuan orang lain. Aku nak lebih berdikari dan bergantung kepada diri sendiri, bukan dibawah orang lain . Yeah! way to go aqmal!

Through some complicated procedures, i've managed to recover all my older post and transfer it to this blog in this new account, ok i might sounds crap and you might not understand me, but whatever, it wasn't so hard actully.

So this blog is completely invulnerable yet transparent but i've hide this blog from any potential attack. haha. Starting from now on, i'll post almost everything that i want, how i feel, how i see the world and much more inside this new blog. While my older blog, it will remain abandon like that. So it's new year, and it's a whole new beginning!

Dalam pukul 6 balik, agak awal ouh. Selalu aku g sunway tak pena balik awal.

belik mesti malam, aritu balik dari sunway pukul 2 pagi. ahaha.

Kitorang banyak gak la photoshot dalam tu. Plus insiden yang pelik

dengan istilah PETIR time amek gambar ahahah! Nak cucuk duit

diorang tekan touchscreen mesin atm tu susa benar haha. Lepas tu

kitorang sanggup turun naik eskulator yang sama 2 kali sebab na bergambar

Masuk kedai kedai y lawa, berlakon mcm nak beli padahal sorang lg

tengah amek gambar. Petang tu aku hantar diorang balik banting, jauh siak!
